Biography
Gabriela Aleman is an artist specializing in puppetmaking, sewing and watercolor painting. A first generation American with familial ties to El Salvador, Gabriela grew up with her abuela by her side, teaching her to sew and use her imagination to create. Abuela was one of the first people to call her Gabrielita, a nickname that has stayed with her as an artist and individual ever since.

As a teenager she attended the Tacoma School of the Arts and studied illustration as well as theatre performance. In 2014, Gabriela moved to New York City and has been active since as an actress along both coasts, performing in stage productions, short films, and comedy shows.

In spring 2024, Gabriela will graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology with an AAS in Illustration, with the intent to join their Toy Design BFA program.
​
Gabriela takes inspiration from horror and science fiction, video games and vintage fashion- among other things- industriously working to share her vision with the world.
